Where I am now and a brief background
Currently, I am a proud member of the Illimited Lab at the University of Washington, where I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics. Prior to this, I completed my Master's in mechanical engineering in the Netherlands at the University of Twente. The focus of my dissertation is the multidisciplinary endeavor of understanding why diving birds survive water impacts at neck-breaking speeds. To comprehend this mind-bogglingly complex question, I work together with some amazing experts in a variety of fields. My collaborators on the fluid dynamic side are Tadd Truscott, and for the biological aspect, we collaborate with Adam Summers and Frank Fish. Furthermore, on the structural dynamic side, my main Ph.D. advisor is Ed Habtour. For further details, publications, and progress, please see the Research tab.
Besides my career and technical interests, I am passionate about visual arts and photography. If that interests you, please check out my Gallery page, where show some awesome science visualizations alongside images I really like.
